10 or 11 day trip to France and Italy – which of these cities should I visit?
I’m female in my early 20s and will be traveling on my own in early August. I will be traveling by train and have narrowed down my city choices to:
Paris (3 days), Carcassonne (1 day), Avignon (1 day), Arles (1 day), Nice (1 day), Monaco (1 day), Cinque Terre (2 days), Venice (2 days).
I need to cut some cities out of the Carcassonne/French Riviera part but I’m not sure which ones I should skip!
IMHO cut Carcassonne Nice and Monaco.
Add Possibly Genova. Cinqueterre area just one day, jou can walk in one day all path #2 (begin from Riomaggiore or Manarola -where is available an hostel-
Consider leaving paris early in the morning to Avignon, before evening move to Arles, visit in the morning and in the afternoon move east.
Actually i do not know if you arrive to paris and leave from Venezia, if so the trip is compulsory, othewise if you arrive/leave in paris you could “cheat” saving one day trip going from arles to Nice, getting the night train to venezia, then back the same train venezia-genova , going on the cinqueterre early in the morning making a full day trip, night in genova, in the evening to Milano, one day there then night train to paris.
Other possible option from cinqueterre in evening go to Parma, and leave from there next day.
